Dans son exposition <em>L\u2019alchimiste, Gilda, Suzanne et les autres<\/em> au <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mba.rennes.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mus\u00e9e des beaux-arts de Rennes<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #0a0a0a;\">Sahal fait danser et bouger ses cr\u00e9ations, les lib\u00e9rant ainsi des contraintes impos\u00e9es par l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le grotesque comme outil d&#8217;\u00e9mancipation<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">L\u2019une des caract\u00e9ristiques frappantes du travail d&#8217;Elsa Sahal r\u00e9side dans son utilisation du grotesque, un terme qui \u00e9voque \u00e0 la fois l&#8217;humour, l&#8217;exag\u00e9ration, et la distorsion de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9. Mais chez Sahal, ce n&#8217;est pas seulement une d\u00e9marche esth\u00e9tique : c&#8217;est un choix strat\u00e9gique. Ses sculptures, souvent anthropomorphiques et empreintes de sensualit\u00e9, ont un aspect d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment d\u00e9cal\u00e9, voire grotesque, ce qui permet \u00e0 l\u2019artiste de jouer avec les limites de l&#8217;acceptable et de remettre en question les conventions. Loin de la rigueur acad\u00e9mique, elle explore des formes biomorphiques qui flirtent avec le bizarre, tout en imposant une pr\u00e9sence forte et revendiqu\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ses figures f\u00e9minines, comme Gilda et Suzanne, sont d&#8217;abord des potiches fig\u00e9es dans une posture passive. Mais gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des jambes soudainement acquises, elles se lib\u00e8rent, se redressent et prennent vie. Cette m\u00e9tamorphose incarne l&#8217;\u00e9mancipation des femmes, une \u00e9mancipation qui ne se limite pas \u00e0 un simple geste physique mais qui renverse des si\u00e8cles de st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes, de la fragilit\u00e9 \u00e0 la puissance, de la passivit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019action.<\/span><!-- notionvc: 21c36963-bc0b-4242-b933-673f80a9b036 --><!-- notionvc: a34f308a-6000-4ca9-a274-20291b529f59 --><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le corps en mouvement : une r\u00e9volution silencieuse<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La marche et la danse sont omnipr\u00e9sentes dans l&#8217;\u0153uvre de Sahal, et ce ne sont pas des gestes anodins. Ce sont des actes d\u2019\u00e9mancipation, des d\u00e9clarations de libert\u00e9. Gilda, avec ses courbes g\u00e9n\u00e9reuses et ses jambes d\u00e9sormais affirm\u00e9es, ne se contente pas de poser, elle prend le contr\u00f4le de son espace. Le mouvement qu&#8217;elle insuffle \u00e0 sa sculpture \u00e9voque une lib\u00e9ration, une forme de joie retrouv\u00e9e dans un monde o\u00f9 les corps f\u00e9minins sont trop souvent fig\u00e9s dans des r\u00f4les traditionnels. D\u2019autres figures, plus petites et plus malicieuses, font aussi preuve de cette m\u00eame \u00e9nergie dynamique : les <em>homoncules phalliques<\/em>, loin de l\u2019image virile conventionnelle, se livrent \u00e0 des actes anodins comme la randonn\u00e9e, remettant ainsi en cause la virilit\u00e9 traditionnelle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ces personnages incarnent une version subversive de la beaut\u00e9 et de la puissance. Dans un monde o\u00f9 la c\u00e9ramique est parfois per\u00e7ue comme &#8220;inf\u00e9rieure&#8221; ou trop associ\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019utilitaire, l\u2019artiste d\u00e9tourne ce m\u00e9dium pour cr\u00e9er des sculptures profond\u00e9ment artistiques et provocatrices. La terre devient alors un terrain d\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation et d\u2019affirmation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0a0a0a;\">L&#8217;artiste joue avec les textures, les couleurs et les formes pour d\u00e9construire les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes li\u00e9s \u00e0 la f\u00e9minit\u00e9 et au corps. Par exemple, dans ses \u0153uvres comme <em>Les potiches ont attrap\u00e9 des jambes<\/em>, les vases, qui sont traditionnellement associ\u00e9s au f\u00e9minin, sont transform\u00e9s en sculptures dynamiques, pr\u00eates \u00e0 prendre la route. Ce geste audacieux fait \u00e9cho \u00e0 une critique du regard patriarcal sur la f\u00e9minit\u00e9 et la passivit\u00e9 historique des femmes dans l\u2019art.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0a0a0a;\">Subversion et humour : une mise en sc\u00e8ne de l\u2019\u00e9mancipation<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0a0a0a;\">L\u2019humour occupe une place centrale dans l&#8217;\u0153uvre de Sahal. Le c\u00f4t\u00e9 grotesque et parfois burlesque de ses personnages cr\u00e9e une distanciation, permettant \u00e0 l\u2019artiste de d\u00e9construire sans culpabilit\u00e9 les repr\u00e9sentations traditionnelles du corps et de la f\u00e9minit\u00e9. Le rire devient ici une arme : en jouant avec les formes, en exag\u00e9rant les postures, en d\u00e9tournant des symboles classiques, l&#8217;artiste impose un nouveau regard sur des questions graves, mais sans lourdeur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0a0a0a;\">C&#8217;est le cas avec l&#8217;\u0153uvre <em>These boots are made for walking<\/em>, o\u00f9 la virilit\u00e9, traditionnellement associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la grandeur et \u00e0 l\u2019accomplissement, est mise en crise par des phallus fragilis\u00e9s par des bottes d\u2019argile. L&#8217;artiste d\u00e9tourne une chanson populaire, transformant l\u2019iconographie virile en une critique \u00e0 la fois ironique et joyeuse du pouvoir masculin.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0a0a0a;\">Conclusion : un monde en pleine transformation<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0a0a0a;\">Dans <em>L\u2019alchimiste, Gilda, Suzanne et les autres<\/em>, Elsa Sahal r\u00e9invente l&#8217;art de la sculpture pour questionner les rapports de genre et d&#8217;identit\u00e9. Par son humour, son regard critique et son audace formelle, elle nous invite \u00e0 repenser les r\u00f4les sociaux assign\u00e9s aux femmes, et \u00e0 imaginer un monde o\u00f9 les corps, qu&#8217;ils soient masculins ou f\u00e9minins, sont libres de s\u2019\u00e9manciper de leurs carcans. Ses \u0153uvres, loin de se contenter de la beaut\u00e9 traditionnelle, t\u00e9moignent d&#8217;une transformation profonde de l&#8217;art, o\u00f9 le grotesque et la sensualit\u00e9
